One of the most frightening experiences of my life TAKE place while I was on holiday in Greece two years ago.

We STAY at a holiday resort on mainland Greece for nearly a week when we DECIDE to visit one of the nearby islands. First, we BOOK the trip at our hotel, then we WALK down to the harbor and FIND our boat.

The captain WELCOME us on board and we SIT down near the front. At first, the weather BE good and the sea BE calm. However, after about fifteen minutes, the wind BECOME much stronger.

Then dark clouds FILL the sky, and it was clear that a storm was about to start.

Ten minutes later, it POUR with rain and the sea was extremely rough. It was absolutely terrifying!

The captain of the boat EXPLAIN that he couldn’t approach the island – he was worried that we might hit the rocks if we GO too close!
