In Tet holiday, we tell best wishes to our family and relatives to get lucky money. We burn incense to worship our ancestors and hope for luckiness. After that, we go to the flower market to take some photos and visit the pagoda to pray for happiness. The streets are decorated with a lot of lights and peach blossoms. There are many Tet songs which are opened or sang so as to create a joyful atmosphere. We also hang out with friends to visit our teachers and have a party. For instance, we join in many traditional games and activities such as blind man’s bluff, lion dances and wrestling.

Tet is a national holiday. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese people to have a fun time to think about the old year and the next year. During the New Year, spring fairs are held, the streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and most shops are crowded with Tet shoppers. At home, everything is tidied up, traditional dishes, other dishes, soft drinks, flowers, and betel nut are placed on the ancestral altar along with the burned incense sticks. The earthquake is made when a lucky guest comes to visit and the children receive money to celebrate their age in red envelopes. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children are well behaved and friends, relatives, and neighbors give each other the best wishes for the new year.
