Lunar New Year festival, also known as Tet, is the biggest traditional festival in my country, Viet Nam. Tet is usually from the end of January to early February. Before Tet, Vietnamese people prepare many things, we always want everything to be perfect for the new year. In particularly, we clean the house and decorate it with flowers and trees such as kumquat tree, peach blossom,… In addition, a huge amount of food will be bought before Tet for making traditional dishes like Banh Chung, Banh Tet, Gio cha,… During Tet, we visit our relatives and give them wishes.  Traditionally, elders will give lucky money to children and the oldest people in the family. However, nowadays, we can give it to anyone including friends, parents, neighbors. Besides, Vietnamese usually go to pagodas or temples to pray for health, wealth, success. All in all, Tet is all about going back to origins, being good to others, enjoying the precious moment, and wishing for the best to come.

Boat racing festival in West Lake takes place on the 9th day of the first lunar month. The first is the opening ceremony with many special performances and the sound of drums opening spring. On the river, twenty-seven dragon boats are brightly decorated and have a seven-color flag on the stern of the boat. When the sound of drums signaled the start of the race, the jockeys held their hands at the helm. By the lake, the audience cheered and cheered. While rowing the boat, the drums kept playing. At the end, everyone congratulated the winning team. The boat racing festival has left this year's spring clear.

Lễ hội đua thuyền ở Hồ Tây diễn ra vào ngày mùng 9 tháng Giêng âm lịch. Đầu tiên là khai mạc với nhiều tiết mục đặc sắc và tiếng trống khai xuân. Trên sông, hai mươi bảy chiếc thuyền rồng được trang trí rực rỡ và cắm lá cờ bảy sắc ở đuôi thuyền. Khi tiếng trống vang lên ra hiệu cuộc đua bắt đầu, những người đua thuyền vững tay chèo lái. Ven hồ, những khán giả hò reo cổ vũ. Trong khi chèo thuyền, những hồi trống vẫn không ngừng vang lên. Kết thúc, mọi người cùng chúc mừng đội đua đã vô địch. Lễ hội đua thuyền đã để lại cho mùa xuân năm nay thêm rộn ràng.
