A few months ago a few of my classmates and I came to Borneo with a geography teacher to adventure in the forests of Vietnam.
As soon as I got to the Forest, I checked my gear and began an early morning tour of the forest. After walking for miles in the woods, we reached a clearing. Since it was already dark we decided to set up a tent and spend the night there. Before long, darkness completely enveloped the forest and we lit it with kerosene lamps.
Feeling tired, we ate early and went to bed. The surroundings were very silent, but soon the night creatures started to become active. The forest was now filled with terrifying noises. One sound after another came again, more terrifying: the drum sound of a native. And with each passing minute, the drum sound got closer. We all chilled up in the deadly silence. The tension was high, but still nothing happened. Then as suddenly as it had started, the noise stopped. We are alarmed. Now we know that the natives have seen us and that we will be attacked. In such a situation we could not sleep. Death can come at any moment.
