The Khmer people have a population of about 1260600. They live in provinces of Mekong Delta. the Khmer language belongs to the Mon-Khmer group and they also have writing system. They live on growing rice, raising cattle and poultry, making sugar. Khmer cloth is well-known for being unique, colourful and strong. Every year, they hold festival of two main holidays is Chaul Chnam Thmey and Greetting the Moon festival

Khmer people are a southeast Asian ethnic group native to Combodia,accouting for 97.6% of the countries 15.9 milion people.They speak the Khmer language,which is part of the larger Austroasiatic language family found throughout eastem and central India and Bangladesh,in other parts of Southeast Asia (including VN), south China and numberous islands in the India Ocean.The majority of the Khmer are follower of the Khmer stysle of Buddhism, a highly syncretic version blends elements of Theravada Buddhism,Hinduism,animism and veneration of the dead.Significant population of Khmers reside in adjacent areas of Thailand (Northern Khmer) and the Mekong Delta region of neighboring VN (Khmer Krom),while there are over one milion Khmers in the Combodia diaspora living mainly in France,the United States and Australia
