There are some disadvantages of living in nuclear family.  First, parents have to go work to earn their living, so they have a little time for taking care of children. They may be neglected and looked after by the servants.  Without help from extended family, parents may need to take off work to care for sick children. Second, living in nuclear family can isolate people from other relatives and relationships. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins have a place within a family structure, but the nuclear family doesn't always foster these relationships. Last, a nuclear family is a small support system. Emergency situations, such as an accident or even a time of illness, can leave small nuclear families in crisis. No family is perfect, but when you work together with family members, you ensure the best possible outcomes for everyone involved.
