There are so many differences. My parents belonged to a different era. They have seen India before and after Independence. My father had witnessed famine, riots, partition and wars. And so has my mother. Their spines were made of steel and they were more compassionate and accepting as well as possessing a fighting spirit; they never gave up. They sacrificed for us, their children, so that we could have quality education and stand tall in society. They gave so much love to everyone around them. They were extremely hardworking and disciplined.

I wish we possessed their wisdom and their spirit and their selfless love. But my father also was short tempered; that was the greatest flaw in his character. I have tried my best not to lose temper at the drop of the hat like him. I have learnt from my mother how not to frightened by any angry person. There are so any things I need to learn… the learning will go on till I breathe my last.
