Soil pollution is an example of our negative impacts on the environment. Due to modern farming practices and the abuse of chemical pesticides, the soil is losing more and more crucial minerals and microorganisms in it. As a result, the quality of soil is rapidly degraded. Arable land will turn into desert or be lost to erosion and water logging. Furthermore, the soil is also polluted by improper disposal of waste or heavy metals from factories and power plants. These substances will enter the waterways and then our food chain, which gradually do harm to our health. To solve the problem, plants must build proper waste disposal systems and people should avoid using harmful chemicals in farming.
