TOPIC 1:

I’m going to talk about Irina, who is one of my closest friends ever.

Actually, Irina is her English name; her Vietnamese name is Tuyet. But I’ll use Irina because I know she likes that. She’s one year younger than me. We used to live next door, but now we live in the same flat.

I want to talk about Irina for several reasons.

First, she’s very kind. She’s willing to give others a hand, and she always stands by me whenever I need help. Last year, I had a high fever and had to be hospitalised for a week. She took a week off to take care of me.

Second, she’s a patient person. Unlike me who can get angry very easily, Irina’s able to stay calm in almost every situation. In terms of being patient, I am learning a lot from her. I remember last week, both of us had to wait for another friend for nearly two hours because he got up late and got stuck in traffic. During those two hours, I kind of lost my temper and constantly complained. I was pacing back and forth, while Irina was just sitting there reading a book. At first, I was really jealous and wondered why she was so relaxed in that situation, but afterwards, she said to me: ‘’You need to learn how to enjoy every minute of your life’’. Then, I realised that I was wasting my time doing pointless things, and from that moment, I knew that I needed to learn to control my temper so that I could enjoy little things in life.

I’m so lucky to have a friend like her.

So, if I had to talk about one of my best friends, it would have to be Irina.

TOPIC 2:

I’ve recently got into Ariana Grande’s music, so I’m going to talk about her. Ariana’s been around for quite some time now, debuting in 2013, achieving some success with that first album.

However, although her songs have always been catchy, her voice sweet and tender, she wasn’t really a top star until recently. Her latest album is what launches her into superstardom, with the lead single “Thank u, next” topping music charts all around the world.

I think the reason the song catches on is that she has put her personal stories into it, being a kiss-off anthem, full of post-breakup nostalgia and hopeful sentiments at the same time.

I want to meet her just to see her in person, and maybe talk a bit about how she writes her songs. I know this is a long shot, but she did flirt with the idea of touring in my country once. Hopefully she’ll come here some time in the future.

I have a great friend. The name of my friend is Lan. She is 14 years old. She lives in Ha Noi city. She is a good student. She is in class 9.she is very hard working person. She is gentle and punctual. Her hobby is gardening. She shares her happiness with me. She is short and fat. But she is healthy and beautiful. She has short black hair. Her eyes are black too. She is a nice girl. She is always friendly and helpful. Everybody likes her.In the afternoon, we talk and spend a lot of time together. She is a witty person. She often tells jokes and riddles. She also helps me in my studies. She comforts me in my sorrows. She looks beautiful. She is my best friend. I feel proud of myself for having such a wonderful friend. I love her very much.

My favourite celebrity is Billie Eilish. She’s an 18 year old singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Los Angeles. She gained media attention when she uploaded her song ocean eyes, to SoundCloud when she was 13. She became worldwide known after she released hir hit single, bad guy. Right now, she’s a 5-time-Grammy winner, 2 American Music Awards and a lot more. I love her because she is real. If she does not know something or somebody famous, she just says it, she is also honest about how she feels. Also, I like how she does not fit in the box of all other female singers. Her music is not always my taste, but it is indeed exceptional. Some songs are fiction, some are dialogues of inner monsters, of God, of devil. I take it more as musical surrealism and joy of expressing the weirdness than anything else. The way she sings, the effects and instruments are well manufactured and unusual.
