I am very happy to be able to tell you the battle of Điện Biên Phủ in English language. This was the biggest military victory in the Indochina War (1945 - 1954) of Vietnam. With this decisive victory, the Vietnam People's Army force led by General Vo Nguyen Giap forced the French at Dien Bien Phu to surrender in May 1954, after two months of battle.  In the midst of this battle, the French had increased to 16,200 people but still could not withstand the stormy attacks of the Vietnam People's Army.  The French were unable to pacify Vietnam despite years of fighting and with increasingly deep US support and involvement. The French did not have any ability to continue fighting in Vietnam after this defeat.
