Earlier this morning, when some classmates and I were (1) playing basketball in the park near our school, it suddenly began to rain (2) heavily .We immediately grabbed our basketball and ran for shelter. At first, we stood together under a tree, (3) but then it began to thunder. Peter told us that it was (4) dangerous to stay under a tree in a  rainstorm, especially when there is (5) lightning, so we ran to a nearby store to wait unitil the rain (6) stopped.

From the (7) place  we were standing, we could see that the (8) park was empty. Before the rain started, there had been people everywhere but now (9) nobody was playing basketball or football or doing (10) texercise or sitting on the park (11) benches reading the morning papers or chatting with their friends.

We stood in he (12) doorway of the store for nearly twenty minutes before the rain finally stopped and the sun came (13) out again from behind the clouds. Within a few minutes, the park was (14)full of people again, but now the air was cooler and big puddles of rainwater could be seen (15) everywhere
