In Vietnam, there are many special festivals, especially Tet holiday or more commonly known by its shortened name Tet. Tet is the most important and popular festival. Tet takes place around late January or February or the last month of the Lunar. Before Tet, people usually decorate their families, buy new clothes, and so on. During Tet, Vietnamese spend time shopping for the New Year, go to Pagodas and Temples. My favorite activity on Tet holiday is watching lion dance, it is very fun and interesting. Besides, I also love to get lucky money from my relatives. 

Tet is a significant holiday in Vietnam. The Tet season often lasts from the beginning of January to the end of February. Tet’s meaning is the finish of the old year and a welcome for a new year. Tet Holiday is one of the occasions for Vietnamese families to reunite. The branch of the Mai flower or the Kumquat tree can not be absent, adding a new feeling to the building. On the Tet holiday, people have plenty of traditional events. Young and old people take part in traditional games such as tug of war, rice cooking, watching lion dancing. A lot of people pay a visit to their relatives to wish a happy new year. Adults usually give lucky money to babies. People also go to pagodas to pray for their families. Tet holiday will stay in the heart of Vietnamese for generations.
