I'm really trying to come up with some good answers for this, but am afraid that I really can't think of anything. During the U.S. Bicentennial celebrations in 1976, it was not uncommon living outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to see many people holding celebrations and burying time capsules where things relevant to the 1976 Bicentennial and that particular time period were included to be opened up at a later date. That later date was usually figured to be about 50 years, and I just cannot believe all that time has now passed. It was pretty common to include newspapers or newspaper clippings about what was going on historically at the time and perhaps some sort of documents or photographs of historical relevance. I've heard of things like a fashionable item of clothing at the time or something like that being put in. Money of some sort, be it paper currency or coinage is always very popular - as a matter of fact, many people put $2 bills into the Bicentennial time capsules that were popular at the time and are no longer produced. There were also $1 silver dollar coins that were put in and are no longer produced. Special minted Bicentennial coins were also included into the time capsules. My family was having a day trip into the city to Philadelphia in July 1976 when one such time capsule was being buried into the ground under the pavement on Market Street with a plaque put upon it amidst great fanfare and I found out that it was opened up this past year, though I unfortunately missed what was revealed inside. I don't know if putting something like a cellphone would be a good idea or not, because how would you possibly be able to use technology that old when things 5 years or even less are considered obsolete? Would you put something historically relevant to the times like a Black Lives Matter t-shirt or banner or maybe something to do with the 2020 Presidential race between Trump and Biden? I'm sure everyone would think to include things concerning the covid-19 virus and how the entire world was pretty much on lockdown, but what would you include besides newspapers and newspaper clippings?
