At that time, in the high mountains of the North, there was Au Co of the Shen Nong lineage. Knowing that Lac Viet area had many strange flowers and herbs, she came to visit. There, she met Lac Long Quan. They fell in love, got married, lived at Long Trang palace on land.
Not long after, Au Co became pregnant. How strange, when she gave birth, she gave birth to a bag of hundreds of eggs, after which 100 eggs hatched into a hundred strangely beautiful sons. The cubs do not need to be suckled but still grow as fast as blowing, healthy like gods. Au Co and Lac Long Quan were overjoyed.

But Lac Long Quan was used to living in the water. One day, he had to say goodbye to his wife and children and return to the aquarium. Au Co alone writhed and raised her child in sad expectation. One day, she called her husband to complain:

Lac Long Quan regretted:

Au Co brought fifty children to the forest. Au Co's eldest son became king, took the title Hung Vuong, named the country Van Lang, and established the capital in Phong Chau. That is the legend that explains the origin of our nation. The legend also gives us a better understanding of the two sacred words "compatriots" (in the same package). We are more proud of our Fairy Dragon race. More proud of the solidarity of the ethnic brothers in Vietnam.
