Dear Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh,
I will be happy to know you are reading this letter! I would like to introduce myself, my name is A, I am currently a high school student in Phu Tho province. As a citizen of Vietnam in particular and a global citizen in general, in the face of an increasingly complex climate crisis, I have faith that with your great influence, we will be able to make a difference. practical solutions for the people above all to contribute to the reduction of global climate change.
The climate crisis is unfolding at a rapid pace and with severe consequences. The earth's temperature is increasing, the summer on earth is becoming more and more harsh and dry. The ice at the poles is melting, the sea level is rising, and many countries will be submerged in sea water. Thunderstorms occur frequently with increasing density causing heavy damage. And the cause of all of that comes from the consciousness of every person living on this earth. It is every citizen of our small country that plays a big part in that global climate change process. Factories serving the development of the country are essential, but the treatment of exhaust gases also plays a significant role. Toxic fumes from factories pollute the atmosphere. Waste into rivers, lakes, ponds and seas pollutes water sources and marine species. Garbage littered everywhere. Evidence for the consequences of the climate crisis is that our people suffer very heavy consequences from storms and floods every year. The storms have passed, leaving a lot of material and spiritual losses for our nation. Many of us join hands to help the people, but they don't know that the smallest thing they have to do to change that is to be self-conscious about protecting the environment. The toxic climate, each changing environment also creates conditions for the development of diseases that threaten human life, typically a monstrous cancer that has not yet been completely cured.
As the prime minister of a country, I believe that you are always aware and understanding of this issue. Therefore, through this letter, I want all Vietnamese people to act together for the common environment of the world and for each person. I suggest that everyone should start with the smallest things. First of all, it is necessary to dispose of garbage and classify it in the right place. Provide orientations for rational handling of industrial waste and domestic waste. Push back on outdated practices from burying the dead to minimize contamination of each campus and incubation of harmful pathogens. Dear Prime Minister, we need to strongly introduce penalties for all levels of environmental destruction so that people are more conscious. We need to launch many "for the environment" movements in each locality and school so that everyone can act together. Build funds for the environment. Offer prestigious forms of reward to those who take action for the environment.
I believe that with wise leadership, the good message will spread throughout the country and then one day not far away we will reverse the "climate crisis" and lead a life in harmony with nature.
Dear Mr. António Guterres,
My name is Chu Thi Diem Quynh, a student at Secondary School A in Hanoi, Vietnam. I want to send this letter to you to express my thoughts on the issue of the climate crisis.
Every day when I wake up, I feel the change of climate, the change of nature is more and more. Even though I'm only a high school student now, it's really heartbreaking to face the issue of the climate crisis. Every day we have to hear about information in the media about natural disasters, storms, floods, global warming or maybe many cities will be submerged under the sea. According to Virginia Gamba, Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General on Children and Armed Conflict, “addressing the climate crisis can help build peaceful and resilient communities, while helping to protect Millions of children are affected by conflict. The negative effects of climate change are not the only cause of conflict, but can exacerbate weakness and exacerbate conflict dynamics. I am very concerned about the consequences of such an impact on children affected by conflict, who are already the most vulnerable group in times of crisis.”
So stopping our climate crisis is a child rights crisis. If that is the case, then it is a great pity for us, for mankind. So I think that the United Nations needs to take actions and measures to avoid unnecessary harm to the Earth.
For example, stronger measures are needed to limit the use of non-biodegradable plastics. Plastic items such as bags, straws, bottles, cups, tables and chairs, plastic toys... are very popular in almost every field. However, due to their high mechanical strength, plastic products are difficult to decompose, they will persist in nature from year to year. Causes a lot of painful problems for the environment and the life of animals on earth. So we need to encourage manufacturers and researchers to come up with other materials that can replace plastic materials so as not to affect the environment. If we still use plastic, it will take hundreds of years, millions of years for these products to decompose. That will affect the next generation, the younger generations, the future owners. Stop these harmful actions immediately.
I hope you will take more drastic actions so that we all will join hands to protect the green lung of the Earth.
I thank you very much, even though I am very busy with many things, I have taken the time to read this letter. May you have a lot of health to accompany everyone to fight the climate crisis.
