Tet holiday is celebrating on the fist day of the Lunar New Year. Some weeks before New Year, the Vietnamese clean their houses and repaint the walls.They also buy new clothes.One or two days before the festival, people make banh chung - the traditional cakes,and other goodies. On the New Year Eve, whole family for reunion dinner. Every members of the family should be present during the dinner. On the New Year morning, the young members of family pay their respect to the elders. In return they receive lucky money wrapped in red tiny envelopes. Then people go to visit their neighbors,some friends and relatives.

Traditional Tet is one of the most important festivals of Vietnam. This is an opportunity for people to enjoy a happy with their family and friends. Before Tet, the Vietnamese prepare many things for the three main days. They clean their house and decorate with flowers such as a kumquat tree or peach blossom. During Tet, people visit their relatives' homes and give wishes. Another custom is giving lucky money, which is put into a red envelope as a symbol of luck and wish for a new age. Tet is always my favorite holiday .
