Write about the history of the Temple of Literature - the Imperial Academy:

Temple of Literature is a historical complex at the corner of Nguyen Thai Hoc St, Ton Duc Thang St and Quoc Tu Giam St. It is just a short walk from Hang Bong St of the Old Quarter. Built in 1070, Temple of Literature is dedicated to Confucius, in 1076 it became the first university of Vietnam by establishing Quoc Tu Giam or Imperial Academy within the temple to educate bureaucrats, nobles, royalty and other members of the elite. In 1253 it was renamed to "National College". This must see temple is not only a place to discover Vietnamese ancient architecture but also an oasis of tranquility amidst Hanoi's neverending traffic chaos.

Văn Miếu là một quần thể di tích lịch sử ở góc Nguyễn Thái Học, Tôn Đức Thắng và Quốc Tử Giám, chỉ cách Phố Cổ Hàng Bông một đoạn đi bộ ngắn. Được xây dựng vào năm 1070, Văn Miếu dành riêng cho Khổng Tử, đến năm 1076, nó trở thành trường đại học đầu tiên của Việt Nam với việc thành lập Quốc Tử Giám hoặc Học viện Hoàng gia trong đền để đào tạo các quan lại, quý tộc, hoàng gia và các thành viên khác của tầng lớp thượng lưu. Năm 1253 nó được đổi tên thành "National College". Đây phải xem ngôi chùa không chỉ là nơi khám phá kiến trúc cổ Việt Nam mà còn là ốc đảo thanh bình giữa Hà Nội bộn bề giao thông.

Temple of Literature is one of the first universities in our country. It was constructed in 1070 under Ly Thanh Tong’s dynasty, first to honor Confucius and nowadays to celebrate the doctorate and high rank scholar of Vietnam. In 1076, Emperor Ly Nhan Tong continued the work and built the Imperial Academy as the first university of Vietnam.

The Temple is divided into five courtyards. The first courtyard is from the main gate to Dai Trung Gate. The second is with Khue Van Pavilion. The pavilion symbol is used on the street signs of Ha Noi. The third courtyard is the place where the doctorate names were listed on the stone tablets above tortoise backs. The fourth courtyard is dedicated for Confucius and his 72 honored students, as well as Chu Van An - one of the most famous teachers at the Imperial Academy. The last is also the farthest courtyard is Thai Hoc House, which was used as the Imperial Academy. Thai Hoc House holds a small collection of old-time costumes for students and scholars.
