- Each day, I travel to school on my bicycle. Every single day, the same route is taken: out the front door, down the driveway, a left on the street and then a right onto the path that leads to the bus stop. At 8:05 AM each morning, I meet with my friends at this bus stop and we all share stories about our mornings as we wait for the bus to take us to school. I enjoy riding every day but sometimes it's a bit of a hassle when it rains. Luckily, that's not very common in this area!

- When you are a road user, what should you NOT do?
First of all, try to stay aware of the world around you. People have become so accustomed to having their heads stuck in their phones or listening to music with earbuds that they're no longer aware of their surroundings. Furthermore, thinking that an accident "wouldn't happen to me" is another mistake people make. There is no shame in erring on the side of caution when it comes to safety. These days, road accidents are more likely than ever, so be sure to take care when on the road! Also, even if you are following the rules and procedures for road safety, be sure not to forget about other people's safety as well! For example, if your child is playing outside near a street, keep them inside until they learn how traffic works and how they can stay safe around it. Even then, tell them not to play out in the street!

- When you are a road user, what should you do?
First of all, please make sure you follow the rules. It is very easy to get distracted and sometimes it doesn't take much time for an accident to happen. So, if you are driving a car, please don't drive over the speed limit. If you see an ambulance on the road or hear its siren, please move to the side as soon as possible. Accidents could happen when people are not paying attention. Therefore, please don't use your phone when you are driving or riding a bike. In addition, if you see an accident happening in front of your car, please call 911 right away. For example, once I was driving on a freeway when I saw a car crash into another car and kept going without slowing down at all. I called 911 right away and told them where the accident happened and how to get there quickly. It was really scary! The police were able to catch that driver before they got too far away from the scene of the crime.

-It's a sign that means "No Passing," meaning that you must stay in your lane and cannot pass other cars. Sometimes, though, you'll see it paired with another sign that says "No Passing Zone," which is a bit different. It means that there are certain blocks of road where passing is not allowed. The sign appears on the right side of the road before the zone starts, and again on the left side at the end of the zone. When looking for these signs, it's important to keep in mind that you're only prohibited from passing other cars in front of you. If another car passes you from behind, this is legal because this is not considered "passing" according to the law.
