According to the chart, in 1990, travelling by bus and rail was the most popular, representing nearly 45 billion kilometers and 40 billion kilometers respectively while the figure for other transport modes were much lower, only at 5 billion kilometers in 2000, however the use of bus and rail was the same, both at nearly 50 billion kilometers, as opposed to 10 billion kilometers or under of the rest in the same year.

As can also be seen in the chart, the change rate of rail was the most noticeable, growing by nearly 10 billion kilometers over the time while the increase rate of air and motorbike was slower, only rising by 5 billion kilometers or under. By contrast, the use of bicycles and motorbikes was nearly unchanged over the period. Correspondingly, the total number of kilometers traveled registered a hike, at 115 billion kilometers in 2000 as opposed only 100 billion kilometers in 1990.
