a) x\(^2\) – 4 + (x – 2)\(^2\) = \((x-2)(x+2)+(x-2)^2\)
= \((x-2)(x+2+x-2)=2x(x-2)\)
b) x\(^3\) – 2x\(^2\) + x – xy\(^2\) = \(x(x^2-2x+1-y^2)\)
= \(x[(x-1)^2-y^2]=x(x-1-y)(x-1+y)\)
c) x\(^3\) – 4x\(^2\) – 12x + 27 = \((x^3+27)-(4x^2+12x)\)
= \((x^3+27)(x^2-3x+9)-4x(x+3)\)
= \((x+3)(x^2-3x+9-4x)=(x+3)(x^2-7x+9)\)
